The Largest Reservations and Tribal Lands in the United States
Native nations ranked by land area.
The Navajo Nation dwarfs every other reservation, covering more land than ten U.S. states, followed by the reservations of eastern Oklahoma affirmed after McGirt v. Oklahoma and the great reservations of the Great Basin and Plains. Areas are drawn from the 2020 Census or from each nation’s own figures, and measure land within each reservation’s boundaries, which can include land owned by non-Native people.
