A Kansas town's ever-growing sphere
In the tiny town of Cawker City, Kansas, sits one of America's most famous roadside attractions: a ball of sisal twine begun by a farmer in 1953 that now weighs over 20,000 pounds and stretches for thousands of miles if unwound. Housed in an open-air gazebo on the main street, it keeps growing at an annual "twine-a-thon" where visitors add their own wraps.
