World's Largest Ball of Paint
A baseball buried under thousands of coats
In Alexandria, Indiana, a man named Michael Carmichael began painting a single baseball in 1977 and never stopped. Coat after coat — tens of thousands of them, added by the family and visitors — has grown it into a multi-ton sphere hanging in a purpose-built shed. Guests are invited to add a layer and sign the logbook, making it a participatory roadside oddity.
