Trail Ridge Road
The highest continuous paved road in the U.S.
Trail Ridge Road runs 48 miles (77 km) across Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, cresting above 12,000 feet to become the highest continuous paved through-road in the United States. For miles it runs across open alpine tundra above the tree line, with sweeping views of the Rockies before dropping back into forest.
