Times Square is the dazzling commercial intersection around Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, famous for its towering electronic billboards, Broadway theaters, and dense crowds. Named for the New York Times, which moved there in 1904, it draws hundreds of thousands of visitors a day and is the site of the world-famous New Year's Eve ball drop watched by millions.
