Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the main gateway to Central Florida and its enormous cluster of theme parks, one of the busiest airports in the country by total passengers. Spread over a large tract of flat central Florida land, it has room for long runways and a vast new terminal built to handle waves of tourists.

Its airport code, MCO, recalls the former McCoy Air Force Base on the site. The surrounding flatwoods and lakes are typical of Florida's low, water-laced interior.
