Independence Hall
The birthplace of the United States
Independence Hall in Philadelphia is the red-brick Georgian building where both the Declaration of Independence (1776) and the U.S. Constitution (1787) were debated and adopted. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it anchors Independence National Historical Park, near the Liberty Bell. Its clock tower and Assembly Room, where the Founders met, make it one of the most significant historic buildings in the country.
