The Exploratorium
The hands-on science museum on the Bay
The Exploratorium in San Francisco is a pioneering hands-on science museum, founded by physicist Frank Oppenheimer in 1969. Its hundreds of interactive exhibits, which let visitors experiment directly with light, sound, perception, and physics, became a model copied by science centers around the world. Since 2013 it has occupied a long pier on the Embarcadero waterfront.
