Stonehenge rebuilt from vintage cars in Nebraska
Carhenge is a replica of England's Stonehenge built from 39 vintage American automobiles on the plains near Alliance, Nebraska. Erected in 1987 by Jim Reinders as a memorial to his father, the gray-painted cars are arranged in the same circle-and-arch layout as the ancient monument, with some standing on end and others laid across them as lintels. It has grown into a small sculpture park and a beloved oddity of the High Plains.
