Bridge of the Americas
A free crossing linking El Paso and Ciudad Juárez
The Bridge of the Americas links El Paso, Texas, with Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, across the channel of the Rio Grande in one of the largest binational metropolitan areas on the border. Unusual among the major crossings, it charges no toll, and it carries both passenger vehicles and a heavy flow of commercial traffic between the twin cities.
El Paso and Juárez together form a single sprawling urban area of more than two million people straddling the river, and the bridge is one of several that knit the two halves together beneath the dry Franklin and Juárez mountains.
