The Peace Bridge spans the Niagara River between Buffalo, New York, and Fort Erie, Ontario, just below where the river leaves Lake Erie. Opened in 1927 and named for a century of peace between the United States and Canada, it is one of the busiest crossings on the northern border for both travelers and trucks.

It carries cars and freight between the Buffalo-Niagara region and the dense industrial heartland of southern Ontario near Toronto, a key link in the trade between the two countries.
